Homemade Burgers and Fries

by chefnatskitchen

Lean and juicy beef burgers, topped with smashed avocado, fresh tomato and lettuce and a spicy aioli. Served with a side of homemade fries, this is the perfect Sunday night dinner.

Ingredient Notes and Health Benefits

Lean Ground Beef: I buy organic, grass fed beef, and the leanest one that I can find.

Montreal Steak Spice: The perfect blend of spices for homemade burgers, it gives the patties so much flavor and a little spice.

Worcestershire Sauce: A little spicy, savory and tangy, I love adding worcestershire to homemade burgers.

Russet Potatoes: One of my favorite types of potatoes for homemade fries. They are high in vitamin C, potassium, fiber and antioxidants.

How to Make Homemade Fries

First, cut potatoes into wedges and place in a large bowl. Cover them in water and soak for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375. Remove the potatoes from the water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Pour the potatoes back into a dry bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and stir to coat. Sprinkle seasonings on top, and stir again to coat potatoes. Place on a baking sheet, making sure that the potatoes are not overlapping. Cook in the oven at 375 for 20 minutes. Increase heat to 425 and cook for another 20 minutes. Remove from oven.

How to Make Homemade Burgers

Preheat the grill to 350. Place burger patty ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Using a large spoon, stir to mix ingredients. Then, using your hands, roll burger contents into a ball. Flatten to make a patty and place on a plate. Repeat until you have used all the meat. Season with extra montreal steak spice. Place on grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side. Top with toppings and serve on your bun of choice.
