This sweet chili lime glazed salmon is the perfect summertime recipe. A little sweet, a little spicy and a little tangy, this glaze is light and so flavorful. Poured over perfectly grilled salmon, it’s perfect for a backyard bbq dinner party or weeknight meal.

Ingredient Notes and Health Benefits:
Salmon: I prefer Wild Salmon whenever possible, and buy mine from either Whole Foods or our local spot here in Scottsdale called Chula Seafood. Salmon is extremely high in protein and is also a great source of healthy fats.
Coconut Oil: Contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCT’s) which are a great source of energy and are also great for brain health.
Ground Flaxseed: This helps to thicken the glaze. Rather than use cornstarch (which is commonly used to thicken sauces, glazes, etc) I much prefer flaxseed. It is high in omega 3’s, fiber and lignans, which may help prevent cancer.
Lime Juice: You can buy limes and juice/squeeze them. You can also buy pure lime juice (not from concentrate) and use that instead, and it’s so much easier!
Sweet Chili Sauce: I buy mine from Trader Joe’s. It’s the perfect amount of sweet and a little spicy.
How to Grill Salmon:
The grill is great for so many reasons. It is easy to use, easy to clean up, doesn’t heat up your whole house and cooks everything to perfection. Simply heat the grill to a high-heat, or about 450-500 degrees. While it’s heating up, sprinkle salt and pepper on the salmon. Place salmon, skin side down, onto the grill. Cook for 6-8 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon filets. Using a metal spatula, remove salmon from the grill and place on a plate.. it’s the easiest!

How to Make Sweet Chili Lime Glaze:
This chili lime glazed salmon is so easy to make. To prepare the glaze, place the ingredients into a mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Pour into a hot skillet and cook until the glaze begins to bubble. Turn down the heat to medium, and let it cook for another 5 minutes (this should be perfect timing with the salmon). The glaze will thicken as it cooks. Using a rubber spoon, scoop glaze onto salmon.
