Ingredient Notes and Health Benefits:

Salmon: A great source of lean protein and healthy fats, salmon is one of my favorite types of seafood. It’s also high in selenium, antioxidants and B vitamins. In this recipe I used sockeye salmon, but any fresh and wild salmon will work perfectly.

Fresh Ginger: It adds so much flavor to the sauce and it helps to aid in digestion and lower inflammation.

Fresh Garlic: High in vitamin B6, vitamin C and manganese, garlic is healthy and so flavorful.

Habanero Peppers: Ok so these peppers are HOT. I recommend starting with 1-2 peppers and you can always add more in. Hot peppers have a lot of health benefits including promoting a healthy digestive tract and reducing blood pressure.

How to Make Jamaican Jerk Sockeye Salmon:

Jamaican Jerk Sockeye Salmon is so easy to make. Simply throw the sauce ingredients in a food processor, cook the salmon in an air fryer (or oven) and you’re all set! Let’s break it down a bit.

1st Step: Cut the stems off the peppers, remove the skin from the onion and add all the dry ingredients into a food processor. Blend for about 30s.

2nd Step: Add the wet ingredients to the blender and blend for 30s. Set aside.

3rd Step: Brush salmon with olive oil, season with salt and pepper and place into the air fryer. Cook at 400 for 7 minutes (that will cook to medium).

4th Step: During the last 2-3 minutes of the salmon cooking, pour sauce into a skillet and cover. Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

5th Step: Pour sauce over salmon. Serve with your favorite veggies and or grain.

How to Use the Air Fryer:

Each air fryer is different, so I recommend referring to the manual of our specific model. Mine does not require any preheating and is very easy to use. I have this Philips Air Fryer and I absolutely love it. After placing the salmon in the bin, I slide the bin into the air fryer. Next, I simply select the temperature and time to cook and that’s it!

What If I Don’t Have an Air Fryer?

Well, first of all, you totally need to get one! In the meantime, the oven will work just fine too. Set your oven to broil at 525. Place salmon on a baking sheet on foil and cook for 6-8 minutes.
